Associates Committee - Cathy Ashcroft, ChairmanProvide programs, opportunities and a forum to enhance the value of membership in BOMA for Associate Members by providing access to the BOMA Executive Committee and Regular Members through networking sessions, social events, and BOMA business meetings.BOMA-BOLR Scholarship - Marita S. Osborne, CPM, ChairwomanProvides funds for scholarships to members and children of members of Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 36, who are employed in a Building Operators Labor Relations (BOLR) member building; individuals involved full time in the management and/or maintenance of a BOMA member building and their children; and any member and their children of an organization or individual deemed eligible pursuant to the Scholarship Advisory Committee’s criteria, that may be amended from time to time. The scholarship funds are for tuition, books, and fees to attend any non-profit two-year college (community college), four-year college or university, or vo-tech school.Codes & Legislation Committee - Daniel Brogan, ChairmanReviews, plans, monitors, and recommends advocacy strategies on legislative and regulatory matters of a state and local government nature that impacts the commercial real estate industry.Communications Committee - Natalie Kidd, ChairwomanCoordinates the publishing of the annual Reference Book. Evaluates all correspondence (website, stationary, and newsletter). Responsible for the solicitation of advertising in the Reference Book.Community Involvement Committee - Kathy Wilkins, ChairwomanThe Community Involvement Committee is proud to provide member’s with a variety of opportunities to give something back to the community where they live and work. The committee has selected several charities with different focuses and needs so that members can choose the one they feel most able to assist. In addition to reviewing and promoting the educational programs and professional designations offered by the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI), the committee plans, promotes and evaluates short courses, clinics and seminars of their own. They are constantly researching the development and improvement of all aspects of BOMA’s educational offerings in order to better service the needs of the members. BOMI Setpember 2008 CoursesMembership Committee - Stephen Resinski, RPAAs a member of BOMA Philadelphia, you will become part of a network of highly motivated individuals working together to enhance their professionalism and improve the future of the real estate industry.Program Committee - Gloria Markward-Owens, ChairwomanThe program committee seeks to provide programs that are entertaining, educational and conducive to networking. The committee books speakers, locations and caterers in an effort to create the best events possible for the members. The success of each monthly meeting is a tribute to this committees efforts.Safety Committee - Ronald R. Rabena, ChairmanPlans and implements educational programs, seminars and workshops that provide assistance to members on issues concerning safety and security matters. Communicate with members regarding crime trends, prevention and awareness. Law enforcement liaison and support with BOMA is coordinated through this committee.Suburban Committee - Edward Donaghy, RPA, ChairmanPlans and coordinates seminars and workshops that relate to problems and/or issues that affect individuals in the suburban region of BOMA/Philadelphia’s membership.The TOBY Awards - Michele O'Keefe, ChairwomanThe Office Building of the Year "TOBY" Award was created in 1985 to salute excellence in the office building industry. Thirteen years later, it remains the most prestigious and comprehensive program of its kind in commercial real estate, recognizing quality in office buildings and awarding excellence in office building management.Utilities Committee - Ron Pluto, ChairmanReviews, monitors and provides advocacy for local and state utility issues that impact the commercial real estate industry. Further, the Committee hosts education seminars (e.g. latest technology and cost savings methods) and reports pertinent utility related information to the Association, so as to keep members in tune and current with industry issues. |
