TOBY AWARDS COMMITTEE
Committee Purpose:
Plan and conduct an annual awards program to recognize buildings of the year. Solicit nominees for the The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) and co-ordinates the judging and recognition processes.
Committee Staffing:
The committee shall consist of a Chairman/woman and at least 6 to 8 committee members. The committee shall be composed of 60% Regular members and 40% Associate Members. The Chairman shall appoint the TOBY Awards Committee Chairperson. The TOBY Awards Committee Chairperson with the help of Committee members shall choose committee members.
Committee Meetings:
The TOBY Awards Committee shall meet as needed, but shall attempt to meet at least 8 times per year.
Committee Responsibilities:
- Creates a ceremony to recognize buildings for their accomplishments in raising the standards and enhancing the status of building ownership and management.
- Orders previously approved trophies.
- Promotes the awards program to members, related organizations and to the news media.
- Through marketing efforts encourages members to submit nominations for the awards.
- Selects judges and supervise and facilitate the judging process for TOBY Award entrants.
- Gathers necessary documents, portfolios, slides, etc. for the purpose of the Awards program.
- Coordinates a local awards program in conjunction with BOMA International’s awards criteria.
- Encourages local winners to enter the BOMA International Regional competitions (Middle Atlantic Regional Conference) and BOMA International competition.
- Develops annual awards program budget to be included in the association budget. Submits committee report for inclusion at the Board meetings.
