One of the most comprehensive such departments in the country. This is where to go to learn, for example, how many barbers operated in Philadelphia in 1977 or what the city Police Department’s budget was in 1960. Retired records of the federal government for the region, which includes Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.
