Antiterrorism and Emergency Assistance Program —

An OVC project, the AEAP provides assistance to communities reeling from terrorist attacks and other cases of mass violence. The AEAP offers five categories of assistance to respond to terrorism and mass violence: crisis response, consequence management, criminal justice support, crime victim compensation, and training and technical assistance. Assistance in each category targets a specific phase in the aftermath of a crisis and is designed to meet the immediate and extended needs of victims and the community.

Includes information for US citizens abroad. This Office coordinates all U.S. Government efforts to improve counterterrorism cooperation with foreign governments and works to coordinate responses to major international terrorist incidents that are in progress. This site includes online documents, research information, news and events, as well as information for travelers.

The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency works to plan responses to, prevent loss from, communicate news about, coordinate resources for and help communities recover from natural and manmade disasters and emergencies.

PA Department of Environmental Protection – www.dep.state.pa.us
Preventing and Responding to Emergencies – DEP’s role during a WMD incident would be to provide technical advice to decision makers on chemical agents, including methods of neutralization, cleanup, and disposal; monitor public drinking water supplies and sewage treatment plants as necessary and issue and appropriate public health advisories; provide emergency response teams to assist unified command to the extent of DEP’s capabilities; coordinate environmental consequences management issues with the Federal Regional Response Team according to the National Contingency Plan and the Federal Response Plan; and provide environmental monitoring and sampling outside the hot zone as capabilities and equipment allow.
