BOLR Update: MOA/COVID-19 (June 2020)
The Memorandum of Agreement, Building Operators Labor Relations and SEIU Local 32BJ, (COVID-19), dated April 8, 2020 has been updated.
Amendment No. 1, dated June 8, 2020
This Amendment No. 1 provides Employees that have been laid off on or after March 18, 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19 an additional month of health coverage. This additional health coverage is being provided at no cost to the Employee or Employer. This additional coverage is being funded out of the Health and Welfare Fund’s Reserves.
In addition the operative date in Section 6 of the Memorandum of Agreement covering the payout of unused vacation/personal time has been changed from September 1, 2020 to October 1, 2020. In short an Employee that remains out of work due to a lay off associated with COVID-19 is due to be paid for their unused accrued vacation/personal time as of October 1, 2020.
