National Naloxone Awareness Day heightens public awareness of the perils of opioid use and the importance of expanding access to lifesaving overdose reversal medications. The awareness day was launched in 2023 by Victoria’s Voice Foundation with support from a bipartisan congressional resolution recognizing the awareness day annually. Last year, over 70 building and landmarks nationwide, including several in Philadelphia, shined purple in recognition of National Naloxone Awareness Day.
