Pneumolight is part of the global coalition Every Breath Counts, the European Lung Foundation, and the Federation of National Associations of Respiratory Diseases (FENAER), and is supported by more than 36 organizations and scientific societies worldwide.

Pneumonia remains one of the leading infectious diseases globally, particularly affecting children, older adults, and vulnerable populations. Each year it causes approximately 2.5 million deaths worldwide, despite being largely preventable and treatable through vaccination, early diagnosis, and access to healthcare.

In previous campaigns, more than 400 iconic landmarks across 44 countries were illuminated on World Pneumonia Day (12 November), contributing significantly to global awareness and the promotion of prevention and early treatment.
