Elora for A Cure - LIGHT UP BLUE/PURPLE

  • BOMA Philadelphia 1515 Market Street Philadelphia, PA, 19102 United States (map)

Advocacy and finding a cure for DIPG - brainstem tumors. Our 7 year old daughter Elora Joyce Khan passed in Sept 2023 from the deadliest and most aggressive form of brain cancer DIPG. 7 months after diagnosis. DIPG remains inoperable/ incurable even 60 plus years after Neil Armstrong's daughter passed from DIPG. Many children across PA lose their lives every year.
DIPG is short for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. It is a highly aggressive and difficult to treat pediatric brain tumor. It is considered the deadliest type of cancer in existence. 400 children each year are handed a death sentence. The Pediatric cancer is severely underfunded, with kids getting less than 4% of the allotted amount of government money for cancer research. DIPG gets even less. With no funding, there will be no cure. With no awareness, there will be no funding.

This event is dedicated to raising advocacy and crucial funds for research aimed at finding a cure for pediatric brain tumors, specifically .We are proud research collaborators with the National DIPG brain Tumor Board and the DIPG/DMG Research Funding Alliance.
We aim to bringing our community together for a day filled with hope, inspiration, and meaningful connections.
